What breed of dog?

I have only ever had one dog which was a miniture yorkshire terrier, I would love another dog but dont know what to go for. I am allergic to anything that has fine hair or that sheds hairs. I was debating over another yorkie or a pomerarian! I am looking for something that isnt high maintainance, and that can cope being in the house on its own during the day

What breed of dog?

You could try a Bichon Frise, they do not shed or shed very little and they are virtually hypo-allergenic. Good for people with allergies. They do need to be brushed a few times a week and will need to be groomed about every 4 months.

A Pom sheds pretty much all the time. They will shed like crazy twice a yr. But if you keep them brushed a few times a week the shedding is not so bad. But since you say you have allergies I would skip the pom.

You can try a Shih Tzu, they do not shed or shed very little also. Good for peopl with allergies too., but will need to be brushed a few times a week also. A trip to the groomer every 4 month for a trim will help also.

Or there is the Poodle, they do not shed or have very little shedding, and good for people with allergies too. But still need to be brushed and groomed.

What breed of dog?

you should look into a poodle. they are hypo-allergenic, meaning they dont shed, so people who are allergic to dogs who shed wont have reactions to poodles because they dont. and you could get a mini-poodle, or a toy poodle. they are small and can stay inside.

huskey

Well, I have a yorkie, I think you should get another one, you can just shave them and then you dont have to brush them or anything, pomerians shed, Hope you make the right choice lots of love %26lt;3

Justine and Daisy

Edit:

Bigger dogs need you to be home alot

Edit #2:

Golden retrivers shed and all dogs are real dogs. They are bred for diffrent things. Did you know the yorkies are called the walking jewels.

Spay and Nuter!

Edit#3:

Poodles are not low matnece, they do not look good shaved and they pick up alot of dirt.

What breed of dog?

a labordoodle (yes they do exist...i think)

they are a cross between a labador and a poodle. they are not supposed to cause allergic reactions

What breed of dog?

Get a real dog.Golden retrievers are great.

Here is a labra thingy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labradoodle

What breed of dog?

If you suffer from allergic from the dog fur the safest one to go for is a poodle as they do not lose there coats, you could have a small one which would be low maintains, and are quite happy sleeping all day.

What breed of dog?

yorkies and pomerarians both need to be groomed and brushed. anyway try bichon frise or a poodle they do not shed yet they do need to be groomed.

What breed of dog?

Pomeranians do shed. A Toy Poodle would be the best bet for your allergies and as long as you exercise it (i.e. play with it) before you go out it should just nap while you are gone. You can also learn to shave the poodle yourself. I do my two in about 1 1/2 hours at the max. I don't do the "poodle doo" rather I do a lamb cut which is the same length hair all over. They are excellent dogs, very devoted to their owner. They are very smart and learn quickly. As with any puppy (if that is what you choose to get) you should contain the pup in a small area while you are gone. Preferably one that is easy to clean if there are any accidents.

To the Yorkie owner: Poodles do NOT pick up a lot of dirt. I have no idea where you got that from but it is an inaccurate statement. They ARE low maintenance as I only have to trim my poodles once every 2 or 3 months and I bathe them monthly (as I do with my Chihuahuas) and since you are suggesting shaving the Yorkie then what is the difference?

What breed of dog?

My friend had a lhaso apso and apparently his fur was good for people with allergies plus he was small only thing is they need alot of grooming and occassional haircut.

What breed of dog?

go for a chinese crested, these are bald as the soles of your feet apart from a mohican haircut.and a bit on there feet..here have a look at this lothttp://images.google.co.uk/images?q=pict...

What breed of dog?

definetly a Shih Tzu they have human hair so unless your alergic to your own hair you won't be allergic to it. also we dog sit yorkshires and i have a Shih Tzu as well they get along GREAT! and shih Tzu are very reliable we leave my dog by himself for the entire day and he is absolutely fine. shih tzu's are also great cuddlers!

What breed of dog?

A labradoodle? They dont shed as much hair.

What breed of dog?

it's unfair to leave a dog alone all day maybe you should wait until your lifestyle changes enough so it won't have to spend more than 3 to 4 hours alone

What breed of dog?

If you have allergies then definately DON'T get a pomeranian, they shed A LOT.

Maybe a bichon frise, a poodle, or if you have had a yorkie then get one of them.

What breed of dog?

pretty much any dog that is curley coated will be hyperalogenic, as the curls hold in the hairs to prevent them shedding the hairs on your furniture or cloths. but all dogs have a level of maint wether it is getting them clipped ect. i wouldnt get a labradoodle as they are expensive and if you are going to pay that kind of money you may as well get a pure bred dog and get the papers that go with them. if you go onto yahoo they have a site that you can go to that you put in your preferances of an ideal dog and they will give you a list of the top 100 best suited to you.

What breed of dog?

I would probably go with another yorkie.

Right now I own a 4 pound toy poodle and he is not as smart as my 8 pound yorkie was. (The yorkie had twice the brain.. haha..)

I would call my toy poodle high maintenance because he needs to be brushed every day and go to the groomers every 1-2 months. (I know another poodle owner said 2-3 months, but my little guy becomes a walking fur ball if I wait that long.)

He is extremely adorable though (most people like him better than the yorkie and he gets a lot more compliments) and he doesn't shed a bit. Not sure about being left alone because my dog always has a family member with him......

But I would guess that a toy poodle would not be the best match for your situation.

What breed of dog?

Jackadoodle- they are great little dogs that do not moult very affectionate

What breed of dog?

guessing you want a small dog that doesn't shed hair then i would go with a bedlington terrier if you want a spirited dog, or you could go with a poodle

What breed of dog?

Hairless Chinese crested, although no dog is maintenance free and they do need good skincare, moisturisers and sun block. Like all dogs they will develop their own temprament _ I wouldn't want to leave any dog alone all day. The Chinese crested particularly like company, it all depends on the individual dog, some are just more 'needy' than others, having said that my boy is so cute, people generally invite him in! so he can go be with me a most of the time! They are very soft and warm to the touch, full of personality and very affectionate ! Very allergy friendly, my sis is allergic but she's OK with him.
