Tiki is almost a yr old, and he grows hair inside of his ear. I clean his ears inside with a Qtip after every bath, and I have cut the little hairs out so that he can hear. Is there a better way? I think the last time I had him groomed they pulled the hair out, plucked it like a human eyebrow....but it must have drove him crazy. I've been lucky to cut it when he's so tired that he can hardly hold his head up hahaha but wondering what other dog owners did. anyone out there with the same problem?

If you really want to get rid of the hairs, PLEASE just trim them!!! My cousin had a Giant Schnauzer who had his ear hairs plucked out by a groomer... and one of his ears got infected and smelled horrible. They never got them back to normal again. He had problems with his ear until he passed away.

groomers pluck like you would your eyebrowns, i simply trim with a pair of scissors with a rounded tip (bandage scissors)

I have a border terrier who gets a lot of hair growth in his ears, if I don't keep up with it ...they tend to hold moisture and he gets ear infections.
I tried the plucking route and that was just miserable for both of us...so I went out and purchased a small electric shaver and trim the ear hair with that...it took him a few times to get used to the noise, but now it doesn't bother him.

The groomer i used to work with used baby powder to better grab the hair and then made a rolling motion to pull it out. you can wrap tweezers or bandage scissors which ever works best for you. Your vet wold gladly show you how to do it.
