My Pet ***** has become a nightmare to my 2 other dog!! i need help!!!?

I have 4 dogs 2 puppies male and female 4 month old and 2 other adult dog also a male and female...we all sleep in the same room on the same bed.. these past few days my female ***** is currently in her 2nd time heat so there is blood all over the matress,pillow etc.. but that is not the problem!!!..now my ***** does'nt like the 2 male dogs on the room any more she acts violently on them she bites,scrathches them good thing they don't fight back,i always keep an eye on them when my ***** has his hair at the back of her head goes up i know he will attack them male so i immedietly get in between them and scold my ***** but after that she attacks them again..this dogs has been together eversince they were very young and i really don't understand why she is acting voilently on them i'm really worried because one of my dogs seems to have a trauma on the ***** and the other one is a puppy....

Get them all fixed, will solve the issue for the most part. That's gross about having your dog in heat on your bed- get her some 'doggie diapers' they sell in pet stores while she finishes this heat, then spay her. Just because you have dogs doesn't mean you have to live with the dog's period everywhere-

Some female dogs become aggressive during their heat cycles, especially towards male dogs when they are in the beginning stages. Also they tend to be more territorial, and crabbier even with their owners. I guess you could say it is a bit like the dog version of PMS, for lack of a better way to put it.

My suggestion is to separate her from the other dogs until the 23 day period (how long a heat cycle is) ends, and you may want to consider spaying her if that is a possibility. She will likely go right back to normal as soon as she gets out of heat.

First get her spayed and this will solve alot of your problems. Second, I would suggest not letting them all sleep on the bed.

And also remember that fights with a female dog can be deadly. Females fight differently than males. Male dogs fight for dominace and are ususally not out to hurt each other when they do fight. But females on the other hand can and sometimes will fight to the death.

Get your females spayed and your males neutered, if they are not already. If you have to keep your female seperated, but also remember keeping them seperate too often can also cause a problem when you put them back to gether. If her aggression continues, I would suggest you find a professional behaviorist to help you.

Yes, the blood all over does have something to do with it. (Let alone the scent, my god its a wonder there isnt a full out brawl all the time...).

It quite possibly, since you sleep with them all, could be that she has picked YOU as the 'alpha male' and is simply defending you and letting the others know to 'back off' into a more 'submissive mode'. In her mind, you are the alpha male and the only one who can 'mate' with her. She is trying to keep 'pack order'.

Okay it's very simple SPAY and Neuter your dogs its actually healthier in the long run plus that is not very sanitary sleeping conditions for any of you.

Your female is aggressive because she is in heat. Is she the mother of the two puppies? She is acting this way, most likely because it hasn't been very long since she was in heat the last time, or because she just had puppies not too long ago, and does not want to repeat the experience. She will continue to attack the males until her heat cycle passes, and the best thing you can do for her and for the other dogs is to have her spayed (having them all spayed and neutered would be ideal). You may want to crate her until her heat cycle passes (one week coming in, one week in heat, one week going out) or have her sleep somewhere else where the other dogs won't be able to pester her. You might want to separate the genders totally, because if the males are smelling the estrus of the female cycle, they may confuse the female puppy as the producer of the scent and try to mount her as well. She is way too young to have pups, but she also does not need the sitmulus that this can cause. she could be injured.

Once the heat cycle is over, the female should be just fine. She will once again be comfortable with the male dogs in your pack, and stop attacking them. Of course, the male dog may not understand why she is being more friendly, and may react badly towards her, so you may have problems from now on. I hope not, but this is again just one example of why spaying and neutering is so much better for the dogs
