My dog cant have pups and we bout her for breeding we asked the breeder if she can have pups and she

my american cocker spaniel missy was supposed to be able to have pups but she cant we bought her specifically for breeding and told the breeder we were planning on breeding her she said she was able to breed and yet the dog had no period and we let her do her bussiness with the male that we were breeding with and has done over ten times for that one wat was supposed to be a period! and yet she was still not pregnant so we cut all her hair off cuz it was summer and then found a scar on her belly indicating that she was spayed! wat should i do i love her but she cant have pups and i definately dont want to get rid of her should i sue?

By all means, sue. Since she was sold as a breeding dog then you should at least get the money you payed for her as a breeding dog back. Restitution for time and other money spent should be had as well. What the breeder did constitutes fraud, which is a felony. So you might consider bringing them up on charges, too.

you coudnt see the scar when you bought her?

I would sue. I wouldn't think that you should have to give up your pet. You were misled. The problem is, do you have any documentation that you were led to believe that she would be able to have pups? Without it it may be difficult to prove and you may be better off to cut your losses and let it go. God bless!!

SUE!!!!!!

It doesn't sound to me like you should be breeding any dog. Does the dog have it's championship title? Was her mother and father health tested? Has she been health tested? Both CERF and OFA? DO you even know what OFA and CERF testing is? Do you know of the many complications that can occur during breeding, and in the whelping process? If you really "loved" Missy, you would take her for what she is. A pet. It seems as if you purchased her to make some extra cash, and that's just wrong.. There are so many dogs being put to sleep in shelters every day, and it's mainly because of backyard breeders and puppy mills. You should just take it as a loss, and love your dog regardless of her ability to have puppies. If you can't find it in yourself to do that, please find her a home with someone who will.

just because there is a scar doesn't mean seh was spayed. seh may have had a hernia or some other surgery if you are going to sue you would have to have a vet testify that she was spayed and when I had talked to my vet they said they would have to do an exploritory to make sure. This would have cost me $150 this was for a dog that was found and I adopted and I was trying to confirm if the dog was spayed or not.

I don't understand you say the dog had no heat ( it's not a period) but yet you had witha male you said they did it 10 times___what exactly did they do teh male may mount a female even when not in heat but they have to be "stuck" in order for the breeding to take so she may not have been ready.

Are you sure it is the female and not the male that has the problem???

You can attempt to sue but do you have proof this conversation took place is there any kind of contract stating you were buying a breeding dog???

good Luck
