Scared dog?

over the past week, 1 yr old lab has been growling, hair raising,cowering with tail down and ears relaxed,retreating into pen and WON'T COME OUT FOR ANYTHING! only at night / 1 second fine, next is this behavior / only does this to wife, NOT HUSBAND. eyes and ears ok. would dog have some kind of epilepsy?? or is he just scared of wife? in dire need of help!!! very worried and confused...

need more info, how long have you had this dog? did it come from a shelter? Did you raise it? It could be sick and trusts you more.

See your vet ASAP! How long have you had this dog? It sounds like something is wrong upstairs and if it hasn't been vaccinanted, it could very well be rabies but more likely, distemper. Both are deadly and dangerous. Please see your vet. He could also just have something else going on internally and is acting this way 'cause of pain. Is there any chance he got into a fight with another dog? This is very common behavior for a dog that has gotten into a fight and is now very paranoid. Is he fixed? You must take him to the vet or surrender him to a no-kill shelter so they can hopefully, get him vet help if you can't afford it which is what I'm guessing because why else would you wait a week? KEEP HIM AWAY FROM EVERYONE UNTIL HE IS CHECKED OUT! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! IF HE HAS RABIES, IT IS DEADLY TO HUMANS. ALSO, KEEP HIM AWAY FROM OTHER PETS AS HE CAN SPREAD ANY VIRUSES.

is he used to the wife taken care of him just like kids when animals don't feel good they want their primary caregiver, i would call your vet asap and talk it over with him/her because they will know your dog and his temperment and any possible causes for this unusual behavior him

the main thing is not to give her attention when she is doing something you don't like such as being scared. i know it seems like you should comfort her but don't.

she does this to the man and not the woman because the man is dominant. if she is being led by a dominant figure she wil be happy. the man could only be dominant becausee of things like deep voice and height, so it really isn't a male female thing. just dominance.

How long has this been going on? He could b afraid of wife! I suggest u get him 2 the vet asap something is wrong!!
