My dog is balding?

My 2 yr old female long haired pappion/ chihuahua mix has lost most of her hair on the middle of her back over the last year. She's a little more protective then usual,never had pups is an inside dog and her appetite is the same. I've tried changing her diet and every bath and conditioner out there. In the summer of 2005 I borrowed dog clippers from a friend. I cut her without the adapter on (for one second) then realized it was too close so I put the adapter on and finished. It looked real good except for that one bald spot. I didn't break the skin, but it seems ever since the bald spot has just grown into a giant bald spot but only from her hips to her shoulders and its symetrical. Any ideas thanks

Your friends clippers may have had a fungus on the that transfered to you dog. You might call your vet to get some medicine for it.

Sounds like she has a food allergy or to fleas--even tho you keep her treated for fleas it doesn't mean that she occasionally have one jump on and bite --I had a dog that had hair loss and I put her on a corn free diet--and used a higher protein diet Omega three has good fats that help with hair too--Oh linseed meal is excellent too just a half of teaspoon in her feed and get ready for hair --another thing is over bathing it drys out the skin and strips the natural oils in the coat--You can find linseed meal at a feed store

u can try to give good skin%26amp;coat supplement to ur dog but it take times to see the effect.... * my friend's dog (4yrs old)'s hair did grow back after a few months. changing dog's diet wont help much! give e food which ur dog eat n it is suitable for ur dog (etc.. wont cause ur dog to shed alot, diarre....) too much conditioner might make ur dog condition more worse... try some herbal bath for ur dog..!! (a herbal bag to be soak in water den use e water to bath + massage onto e skin of ur dog..... good luck.. be patience..

Please bring her to the vet. She could have a skin disease (many are treatable, fortunately), but please have her checked out.
