Please save my dog!?

i have a 2months old dog. he's just an ordinary kind of dog. but he is starting to have skin wounds and he's having hair fall.. he is really experiencing itchiness i can see it the way he scratch his body. can anybody help me? what should i do without bringing him to a vet?

Please save my dog!?

Definitely take your dog to the vet. The vet will exam your dog and take a skin scraping. Sounds like your dog could have a severe allergy...could be to any type of allergy including fleas or it could be mange. If it's allergies to fleas this could be life threatening as this dibilitates and weakens the dog severely. The vet may recommend antibiotics, changing his diet, bathing or a variety of other things. If it is mange...

There are two types of mange. One that is contagious and one that is not contagious. Contagious to you and other animals. Both are treatable by a vet professional only. The only way to find out is take your dog to the vet. The contagious type of mange, sarcoptic mange is more easily treatable than the demadetic mange. Demadetic mange usually spawns from an immune deficiency allowing normal cells to take over. Again, treatable but this type of mange may take a couple more vet professional dips.

All of above will not break the bank and all are treatable. ONLY if you get your dog to vet in time.

Why risk any of it!

Does your dog have an odor....? That is a typical sign of advanced mange, Don't wait that long. The longer you wait no matter what is you are jeopardizing your dog's health.

Responsible pet owners don't jeopardize their pet's health.

I think you are responsible or you wouldn't post this ...So go to the vet...Good luck!

HE NEEDS A VET.

there are many things this could be, from some parasite to an allergy. you can't fix it fast without getting an expert to help you.

Please save my dog!?

It sounds like the mange you will have to make a trip to the vet

Please save my dog!?

could be anything, even mange which is really bad, take him to the vet asap, or you may lose your puppy

Please save my dog!?

sorry think you do need a vet.

a skin Parasite is likely, If you have not seen any fleas

Please save my dog!?

Find him a new home. He deserves better.

He needs to go to the vet. It's that simple. There are too many possible causes for anyone here to recommend treatment without putting te dog at risk.

Why do people GET dogs if they aren't prepared to do what it takes to care for them???

Sheesh.

Please save my dog!?

you should consider taking him to the vet. it shouldn't cost too much. it's probably the best option if he's experiencing stuff like that

Please save my dog!?

Well if you really care and want to keep him alive, spring the extra money for a vet. I am sure if you had skin wounds or hair loss you would hope your family would care enough to take you to the doctor. Animals deserve more respect than most humans, animals don't do horrible things; like lying, cheating, and stealing.

Sounds like he's had an allergic reaction to something he might have touched or rolled in, or dermatitis.

Go to your pet store and buy some puppy shampoo. These are specially formulated for puppies which at their young age have very sensitive skin. Wash him with this in a nice warm bath and towel dry afterwards.

u better go2 a vet

First. if you cannot afford the proper treatment and medical help of a vet you should not have the dog. That being said. Your dog could have any of many different conditions. It could be something as simple as fleas or more complex as allergies. Without bringing him to a vet you are in fact committing animal cruelty which is a crime and can be punishable by jail time and fines. I suggest that you call around to different vets in your area and explain your financial situation and the condition of your dog. If all else fails I suggest that you contact the humane society and see if they have a low cost vet clinic.

It very much sounds like your pup may have an allergy. This could be a food allergy (very common), a contact allergy (something either in the house or in the yard that his skin comes into contact with), an inhalant allergy (something he is breathing in - similar to hay fever) or bite allergy (most common is flea bite allergy).

There are a number of things to do %26amp; look for. The best place to start is probably by reading up on skin and allergy problems in dogs %26amp; there are some good websites for this and one of the best is:

http://www.k9web.com/dog-faqs/medical/ca...

And certainly, don't forget your vet in all this. They can help treat the symptoms (the itchiness) while you all figure out the cause and hopefully eliminate it.

IMPORTANT! Make sure he doesn't have fleas! You may not see them until you give him a good lathery bath with some good flea shampoo, so try that first. Also, if he's a short haired dog, try putting some Noxema on his skin. Wash him in a warm bath with baby shampoo and rinse. Rub Noxema all over him. Let it sit for 5 minutes and rinse it off. Dry him thoroughly. You might also want to try giving him some Derma Tabs or brewers yeast to help his skin. Remember, most skin treatments take a week or 2 to fully work.

Skin wounds and hair loss is NOT GOOD! I can't even imagine how much he must itch!

HE REALLY NEEDS TO BE SEEN BY A VET! I KNOW what it's like to not have the money!!! That's why I have two different veterinary clinics I go to. One of them will take payments and I use them when I don't have the money.

PLEEAAASSSSEEEEE go through your Yellow Pages and find a Vet that will work out a payment plan with you!

This puppy is REALLY suffering and IT COULD BE MANY THINGS!

***DON'T*** give him ANY over the counter human meds!!!!!!! He's TOO YOUNG AND IT COULD EASILY BE FATAL!!!!!

He could have fleas and be allergic to them. But even with giving him a flea bath and flea treatment, he NEEDS antibiotics for the wounds infection!

Also if it閳ユ獨 another form of allergy or mange...NO BATH will heal the wounds!!! They most likely will only irritate them more! Again, that閳ユ獨 why he MUST BE ON antibiotics!

I know this isn閳ユ獩 the answer you were wanting...BUT IT IS THE TRUTH!!!

Feel free to email me with any question. Best Wishes, Deb

p.s. Well I see that someone gave me a thumbs down as soon as I posted. Apparently they haven't had a career in veterinary medicine as I have!!! But that's OK, because I know what I'm talking about!!!!!

Try some benadryl first. See if it is just allergies. If that doesn't help try some lice shampoo to see if it is sarcopic mange. If that doesn't work you probably need ivermectin from the vet for demodectic mange. If this is a pit/pit mix. Skip to the last suggestion. They are full of demodectic mange issues.

Please save my dog!?

for the itching..there are these drops you get at a vet...skin wounds are usually him hurting himself somewhere when he is out..dont worry about that he will get better just cover it up and dont let flies sit on his wound otherwise the wound will be filled with maggots and those are horrible for your dog. take him to the vet he might just need a few shots to make him feel better.

i hope your well

take care

Please save my dog!?

Take your dog to the vet. It could be serious. Dogs have a tendency to scratch a spot until it bleeds, which can create infections %26amp; scarring.

And on a side note: Why do people get dogs %26amp; then not want to take them to vet for a medical condition? If that was your 2 month old child suffering like that, would you take him to a doctor? You took the responsibility of caring for another's life when you got that dog. Start being responsible or get rid of you dog.

VET

Please save my dog!?

get some itching soothing cream and hair treatment

Please save my dog!?

2 things can be cause of itching .

1- flies

2- Shampoo in skin

Please save my dog!?

He is probably suffering from allergies.....Give him a bath with some special shampoo that you can buy at a pet store...Also, we give our dog some benadryl when it gets really bad....I think she gets like half a pill - she is 80 lbs

Please save my dog!?

the same happened to my dog and she was a corgy, the main problem i think is that she was only 5 cm off the ground and scraped the grass often causing her to itch and the only way to relieve the itch was to bite or scratch. maybe if your dog is small like mine, buy something to cover up his stomach or his entire body, showering him often with some sort of skin cream for dogs should help
