My dog is licking himself to the point where he throws up. it is yellow and you can see all his hair in it. how do I stop him?

If he keeps doing this he may excelleertate it to untill he bleeds! He has OCD!(obsessive compulsive Disorder) The only way to help this is if he does it to get attention say enough clap your hands and leave. If he isnt doing it for attention he might need a medication only your vet can determin what kind to his levelness! HE needs help soon! If you wait to long you might just end up having to get his leg raped up and pain killers along with his medication to stop his OCD!

ok if it is his paw, go to the vet, they will give u this spray. spray it on the dogs paw when he licks it and it makes him not want to bit his paw becuase it makes his foot taste bad.

If it is his u kno wat. try to take him for walks more often. he might be eating poop becuase he does not want to go in the house

Talk to your vet. There has to be a reason for the compulsive licking. Maybe he needs more exercise and he's bored. You might also try taking him to an obedience class as that would give the both of you some quality time together and may solve the licking problem too.

Try buying Green Apple spray. It doesn't hurt him at all and is made for these situations. Spray some on the area where he is licking and let him lick it. He will Get a bad taste in his mouth and stop licking it. make sure your re-apply it maybe every other day. It won't hurt cuts either. Good Luck! Feel Better Puppy!

Poor dog has OCD, dogs get it too like people do, get a mist bottle put some lemon juice in it with water and when he starts to lick spray some on him and firmly say"NO!" and when he goes to lick it , it will taste real sour and biter, I would not try the apple spray that someone recommended you .it has a lot of chemicals in it, try lemon juice.
