Cat losing hair?

My cat suffered an injury about 2 months ago from jumping a fence. The wound has healed. We have also gotten a new dog. Since then, he has been sneezing, losing weight and is losing hair around his shoulders. He has started using the bathroom in my closet (I know...its gross) He is eating right and drinking water. Could this be an allergy problem? Infection? Because of the dog? Please help.

PLEASE! take your cat to the vet! could be mange (could be from dog) the cat has either a parasite or allergy, but i would lean towards a parasite of some sort.

Maybe it's the dog. I don't know. But don't blame the dog yet. Why don't you go to the vet. Maybe they can help.

Take both animals to the vet, your poor cat is sick with something and it could be that dog, or they could both be sick and the dog is not showing yet. Time for the vet though, for them both. Yes the bathroom in the closet is gross, but it's thier way of telling you something is very worng. It works to get your attention.

My cat lost hair because of dry skin, it just all started falling out in patches. But I don't know what caused the dry skin. Best thing to do is to go to the vet.

Since the cat is using your closet as his potty box, he may have issues with the dog. You still need to take the cat to the vet to be sure there are no health issues. He can give you suggestions about why the cat is losing fur and may be able to help you with that. In the meantime, be sure the cat stays away from the dog in case it is purely psychological.
