my dog has a really bad rash in her ears. it looks like it's removing the hair around her ears. I've taken her to the vet. but the medicine they perscribed caused an allergic reaction with her. does anyone know of anything that i can do for her. it bothers me and i can tell it bothers her.

this site has some helpful home remedies for a lot of pet ailments. perhaps your dog would have better luck with something a little more natural. also, still keep your vet informed of any other changes in your dog and any worsening of its condition.

You need to return the dog to the vet and allow them to see the allergic reaction and prescribe something else. There is no way for any vet to know ahead of time if a medication is going to bring on an allergic reaction. Good luck.

It sounds to me like it could be the mange. I have had many dogs that have had the mange. If you are not afraid to give it a try get a little motor oil and rub it on spot just a little every day. It always helps my dogs. If you are afraid to try this take her to the vet again and tell the vet that she was alergic to the last medicine they gave her.
