Shaved my dog 3 months ago and he has 4 large patches that won't grow hair, he looks horrible! Help!

My Jack Russell has this same issue after being shaved for allergy testing.

My vet told me that hair growth correlates in some way with daylight hours and may increase when the daylight hours are longer and the shedding season is in full force (nearer to Spring).

He also said if she didn't improve by around April, that he would do a simple T4 and TSH blood test because poor or absent hair regrowth is one of the first signs of hypothyroidism. If her thyroid gland isn't working properly, she will need to take Synthroid pills twice a day.

(This may also explain why she is chubby).

My question is why did you shave a Golden Retriever?

Anyway, take him to your vet and have a skin scrape done....could be a parasite on the skin.

Why would you shave your dog that is horrible!!!!!! Anyway it is probably a skin disease and should be checked out by a vet very quickly!!!! Still why would you even think about shaving your dog???
