poodles do shed. If it has hair, it sheds. With the curly coat of the poodle tho, the hair sticks in the coat and does not fall off the body, daily brushing is a must to prevent matting.
Some breeds may shed less, but if it has hair it sheds. Only a completely hairless dog will not shed. Many of the low-shed breeds tho require grooming.

Some of the dogs who have the 'dred lock' look don't shed nearly as bad as other dogs but they still shed a little as not all of their hair gets caught in the dreds.
Hairless is the way to go, and many are very nice.
Short haired boxers or other very short haird dogs don't shed very much at all if you want one with fur. If you brush out the coat of a very short haird dog every day you wont have much fur, but still some.

certainly, yorkies, maltese, and poodles have hypoallergenic fur. They also have 1 coat on top in stead of an undercoat like most dogs have. poodles will definately never shed but yorkies and maltese will shed only if u dont brush and bath them regularly. as long as you put about 10 minutes into brushing a yorkie or maltese dog.. you have any problems. As for poodles, since thier hair is thick and curly, you will have to bathe it almost every week to make sure it smells fresh and doesnt collect trash in it...Good luck with finding a dog!

the only breeds are bichons, maltese and poodles, and yorkies all are hypo alergetic and do not shed. i love my maltese.
to the comment above, i brush and bathe my maltese regularly and she DOES NOT SHED! the only time she sheds minorly is when she comes back frm the groomer

All dogs shed in some form (and no dog is hypo-allergenic). Dogs like Poodles and Bichons lose small clumps of hair every now and then. They don't leave small individual hairs all over your clothing and furniture. The downside is that they need regular grooming. Other dogs are light shedders such as Boston Terriers and Basenjis that do leave hair here and there. The upside is that they have short, easy to care for coats.
There are several other breeds that shed lightly. If a breeder is telling you that their dogs don't shed, they're lying.
