Being a professional pet groomer I see a lot of cocker spaniels with skin issues. Try upgrading the brand of food your feeding her even going as far as a prescription food. It would help to know the exact type of allergy. Reduce number of baths and try rubbing vitamin e oil directly on to her skin.

Did your vet have you try Claritin? That's what my vet told me to give my dog for allergies. You'll have to check with a vet for the dosage though because my dog's bigger than a cocker.

Pet Allergies, and especially dog allergies, are not uncommon. There are three predominant types of allergy. 'Contact allergies' are triggered by allergens that come in contact with the skin. 'Food allergies' occur when a dog or cat has an adverse reaction to a particular ingested ingredient. 'Inhalent allergies' are spurred on by allergens breathed in by a pet. The following information can help you learn more about your pet's allergies, and allow you to take steps to control it. This information is not a substitute for vetrinary care. A vet will often prescribe medications to help control allergic reactions. This in combination with improving a pet's diet and environment will often reduce allergy symptoms greatly.

The best thing my vet told us was benadryl its over the counter and it doesnt hurt them. If you want a cream anything with cortizone in it it will help with the itch. Also if you bathe her often it might be the soaps are drying her skin out.
